Curriculum vitae

Having graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2000, I received a Greek State scholarship to study at the University of Kent at Canterbury, England, for an MSc degree. During my studies, I was an intern at BTExact, England, where I was responsible to explore the possibility to use data clustering algorithms in the “Watchcast” program. Since 2004, when I moved back to Greece I have expanded my knowledge by practicing in several sectors of the Computer Engineering profession. I have more than thirteen years of experience in teaching, mainly in University courses involving Programming and Networks as well as an educator in various Continuous Learning educational institutes. From 2005 to 2007, I worked as a consultant at the 3rd E.U. Support Framework Management Unit for the Region of Central Greece (“Sterea Hellas”). From 2009 to 2014, I have worked as part of a team managing the university’s network, servers, webpages, services and labs at the University of Central Greece. Since 2014, I am a member of the teaching staff in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, at the University of Thessaly in Lamia, Greece. I am also a part-time PhD student on Big Data Analytics, mainly focusing on analyzing the Common Crawl Corpus using Apache Spark, Python and data and text mining techniques.
