Introduction to systems biology. From molecules to paths. From paths to networks. Circuits and electrical activity in biological systems. Mathematical representation of cellular processes. Simulation of cellular processes. Experimental techniques used in system biology. Model organisms in systems biology.. Analysis of biological networks. Basic properties of biological networks. From topology to function. The main mathematical models in biological networks. Identifying emerging properties. Biochemical networks. Regulatory networks. Networks of protein-protein interactions. Ecological networks -food chains. Signalling networks. Other types of networks in Biomedicine. Systems Biology in Biomedicine. Software and databases in Systems Biology. Case studies and applications.
