Description

English for Specific Academic Purposes (for students of Computer Science) & English for Vocational Purposes The first part will focus on English for Specific Academic Purposes (for students of Computer Science) and the other one will focus on English for Vocational Purposes. The first part in this course will deal with fields related to Computer Science through academic texts, related web pages and speeches. Integrated tasks will be used so that all four skills will be developed, with some extra practice on listening skills and note-taking techniques. The purpose of the second part of this course is to introduce students to the basic principles of English for Vocational Purposes, that is CVs and cover letters targeting at Master’s admission and job vacancies (in the field of Computer Science so that relevant vocabulary is also developed).

Assessment method

A Final Exam = 100% (There is also a small-scale project, which may provide an extra mark on the final grade and a progress test on December providing another extra mark.)
