The first part will focus on English for Specific Academic Purposes (for students of Biomedical Informatics) and the other one will focus on one basic skill of General Academic Purposes and that is SPEAKING and more specifically Oral Presentations. At the same time listening skills will also be developed because oral speech contains both production but also reception. The first part in this course will deal with fields related to Biomedical Informatics through academic texts, related web pages and speeches. The purpose of the second part of this course is to introduce students to the basic principles of speaking in public and help them develop oral presentation skills to use in academic situations involving topics in the field of Biomedical Informatics.
There are two assessment options for this course: A Final Exam = 100% and An Oral Presentation option= 100%
