Pantelis Bagos studied Biology, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the University of Athens, Greece and Adults Learning at the Hellenic Open University. He has been involved in teaching a number of undergraduate and postgraduate classes in several Universities, including University of Athens, University of Peloponnese, University of Central Greece, and Hellenic Open University. Currently, he is Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Thessaly. His research interests include Biostatistics and Genetic Epidemiology (statistical methods for meta-analysis of genetic association studies and applications) and Bioinformatics (biological sequence analysis, prediction of structure and function of proteins and construction of biological databases). He has co-authored more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, with more than 4,000 citations. He is reviewer for more than 40 journals and associate editor in BMC Research Notes, PLOS ONE, The Open Bioinformatics Journal and Datasets Papers. He is founding member and deputy chairman in the Hellenic Society for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.
