Applied mathematics and matrix theory
Numerical ranges matrices and matrix polynomials, spectral analysis, matrix theory with applications in systems theory, algorithms, graphs, statistics and biostatistics.
Maria Adam received her B.Sc. in Mathematics from Department of Mathematics of University of Athens and her Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1989 and 2001, respectively.
From 2001 to 2009, she was visiting Assistant Professor at University of Central Greece, University of Piraeus, National Technical University of Athens, Hellenic Army Academy, Hellenic Open University, Technological Educational Institutes of Messolonghi and Lamia, Greece.
From 2009 to 2022, she was Assistant/Associate Professor and since 2023 to present she is Professor in University of Thessaly, Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, where she teaches Linear Algebra, Calculus, Matrix Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
Her research interests include numerical ranges (matrix and matrix polynomials), spectral analysis, numerical linear algebra, matrix theory with applications in systems theory, algorithms, graphs, statistics and biostatistics.
Results of her research work are published in more than 60 of the most well-known international journals and conferences in applied mathematics area. She co-authored 6 books. She has acted as a reviewer of more than 15 international scientific journals and participated in several research projects funded by public organizations.
