Teaching methods in informatics

Theories for learning and knowledge. Behaviourism. Humanistic theories. Theories of social learning. Cycle of learning, Teaching transformation, Conceptual change, Education triangle, Cognitive models and conflicts. Teaching methods and techniques, organizing and planning of Education, Expected outcomes. Integration of Informatics on Education. The teaching of Informatics in Greece (curriculum, subjects, educational material, school labs).

• Students should be able to gain knowledge regarding the teaching of IT (and of Information and Communication Technologies) in Greece today
• Students should be able to design and evaluate educational scenarios
• Students will get to know the learning theories on teaching IT and other associated concepts
• Students should be able to choose what kind of teaching method, model or strategy is most suitable in order to teach this scientific subject
• Students will be aware of the books taught in schools and the curriculum concerning Informatics
